Competition Rules
Hawkesbury Camera Club – Competition Rules – Printer friendly copy
Financial club members are allowed to enter up to 4 images in total with a maximum of 2 per category for each competition.
All print entries must be hung by 7:30pm & electronic entries submitted to the projectionist by 7:25pm. Late entries will not be permitted.
Order of judging from digital to print will vary per competition with beginners judged first followed by open for each section.
All prints are to be suitably mounted, framed prints not permitted. An image may be submitted into one open and one set competition.
An image that has received a merit award can not be entered again into a point scoring competition during the year. It can be entered in the end of year competition.
Upon receiving an award for print or electronic images it is your responsibility to complete your details on the relevant award slip and return it to the competitions manager for recording on the night. Points: Merit – 4 points, Credit – 3 points, Acceptance – 2 points.
Electronic Images – 2 categories: Colour & Monochrome
• All electronic images must be on a USB stick and should have your name on it for identification purposes. Each image should be named as follows with no spaces:
1KimDOct - - 2KimDOct - - 3KimDOct - - 4KimDOct
• Jpeg file with an image size of 300dpi preferred.
• Memory sticks must be collected before the end of the night as the projectionist will not chase you.
Small Prints – mini (Note: small prints mini & panoramic are considered as one category)
• Minimum image size is 6x4 inches or 15x10cm
• Maximum image size is 6x9 inches or 15x23cm
• Mount size maximum for standard format prints is 10x13 inches or 25x33cm
Small Prints - panoramic
• Maximum image size is 12x4 inches or 30x10cm
• Mount size maximum is 16x8 inches or 40x20cm
Colour Prints
• Minimum image size is 10x8 inches or 25x20cm
• Mount size maximum is 16x20 inches or 40x50cm
Monochrome Prints
(Note: any photograph containing shades of only one colour. If toning is carried out, it must be over the total photograph – partial toning and/or the addition of one extra colour are not acceptable as a monochrome print.)
• Minimum image size is 10x8 inches or 25x20cm (smaller images are to be entered in small prints as a mini)
• Mount size maximum is 16x20 inches or 40x50cm
